Cambium LLP a specialist sales and marketing consultancy are currently running a survey into an important new energy efficiency market opportunity in the UK, that should be of great interest to any business that can reduce energy consumption on behalf of their clients.
ENERGY SAVING OPPORTUNITIES
Energy saving opportunities exist in all businesses across all markets. These opportunities can be located in buildings, manufacturing plant, logisitcs and transportation. Energy savings can also result from new working practices, such as remote working or dematerialisation of processes i.e. moving bits instead of atoms. ESOS can therefore be the catalyst a new market for many suppliers of energy efficient products and services. For this reason we want to here about your views of this important new regulation.

HOW BIG IS THIS OPPORTUNITY?
In late June, 2015 the UK Government introduced new mandatory legislation designed to increase investment the adoption of energy efficiency measures by business. The legislation is called the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme and is known as ESOS.
ESOS impacts over 7,500 businesses in the UK, which must comply with its provisions by 5th December, 2015. One of the key requirements of the regulation is the requirement for the boards of affected businesses to identify new opportunities for investment in energy efficiency projects.
It is part of a wider European Energy Directive (EED) that will have similar impact on 45,000 companies across the EU. For more detailed information – click here for this slideshare presentation
HOW CAN ESOS BENEFIT YOUR BUSINESS?
Affected companies are required to assess costed energy saving options as part of their compliance with the Scheme. A solution provided by your business could be one of these options. The market is conservatively estimated by the UK Government at £220m- £300m.
